Audio Described and Captioned Theatre

Jasper Jones

A boy wearing a striped red and white T-shirt looks up at the sky smiling

Come along to Audio Described and Captioned Performances of State Theatre Company's Jasper Jones.

Charlie Bucktin escapes his small-town life through books. Bored, bullied and lonely, his world is changed forever when fellow outsider Jasper Jones knocks on his window to solve a murder. Always the town scapegoat because of his dark skin, Jasper knows he’ll be the first suspect. He pulls Charlie into a race against time – and the town’s cops – to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Based on Craig Silvey’s celebrated novel, this stage adaptation by the award-winning Kate Mulvany is a heart-warming, poignant and moving ride into the subconscious of Australia’s small towns.

Girl Asleep

A girl wearing a pastel blue top stands in front of a multi-coloured patterned background with her hands on her hips

Windmill Theatre Co.'s Girl Asleep will be Audio Described and Auslan Interpreted on Saturday 21 September 2019.

Mayhem. Adventure. Hormones.

Greta Driscoll is chronically shy and privately falling apart. Frozen in the spotlight of her fifteenth birthday, things go from bad to worse when a stranger arrives propelling her into a parallel place; a latent world that’s weirdly erotic, ultra violent and thoroughly ludicrous.

Part fairytale and part lipstick-smeared vigilante escapade, this is a girl’s own adventure where heroism and gender implode in a unique exposé of the sisterhood.

Come along to an Audio Described and Auslan Interpreted performance:

When:
Saturday, 21 September 2019
Where: Space Theatre, Festival Drive, Adelaide
Time:  2pm
(with a Touch Tour at 1pm for the Audio Described performances)
Duration: 90min (no interval)
Ages: 14+
