"The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God."-Deuteronomy 7:25
There are lots of things we see and may want in this world. When these items consume our thoughts, it can have a negative impact on our relationship with the Lord. So we need to figure out how to stop this cycle. I have found that one of the best ways to combat coveting is by practicing generosity. When we are generous, we are letting go of the material things that can sometimes consume our lives.
This week, think about some things you have which could be given away. Who could you make happy with it!
