Access Trax Helps Local Nonprofit Get Beach Access

This Summer, Access Trax teamed up with local community member Ricky James to crowdfund for the Waves4All adaptive surfing nonprofit based in Oceanside, CA. The group helps people of all ages and abilities enjoy the stoke of surfing. They meet consistently on the last Sunday of every month at the north jetty in Oceanside Harbor.

John White and the crew are well known for their creative ways of adapting equipment and experiences to make everyone feel welcome. Beach access is a huge necessity when making the event run smoothly for surfers who use mobility devices such as wheelchairs. That's why they use the Beach Trax portable pathway. Participants can go to and from the hang out area on the beach and the parking lot with ease- the sand no longer a barrier.

Ricky James, a resident of Vista, CA, found out about Access Trax this year and wanted to help. Ricky and Access Trax teamed up to launch a successful GoFundMe campaign for Waves4All so they could purchase enough Beach Trax to make their whole area completely accessible for all.

At the July monthly surf event, Access Trax presented 150 feet of pathway to Waves4All. Volunteers set it up in a breeze and loved how lightweight it was to carry from the car. Thanks to John's input, Access Trax even debuted the orange colored hinges as a way of increasing pathway visibility. The event was a ton of fun, incorporating the celebration for a surfer's birthday. Community and stoke are a huge part of Waves4All, and Access Trax is proud to support them.

National Park Service Installs Beach Trax in San Francisco

In May of this year, the Golden Gate Recreational Area became the first National Park to install Beach Trax so all visitors can enjoy improved access. Volunteers from SalesForce assisted park rangers during install at Rodeo Beach, making for a fun morning involving the local community. In order to secure panels for semi-permanent use, steel spikes were used.

On August 29th, Access Trax CEO Kelly flew to San Francisco to help install Beach Trax at Crissy Field East Beach. This beautiful beach park boasts the perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. That same day, Kelly partnered with environmental artist Zach Pine for an accessible sand globe workshop at Crissy Field where anyone on the beach was welcome to join in.

On August 28th, Kelly joined 9 other female entrepreneurs to pitch their company in front of a crowd and panel of investors. Each team had 3 minutes to present their company in the most compelling way to convince the judges to select them to move on to pitch at the Women's Venture Summit in September. The top 3 winners of the pitch would also receive $5,000 worth of business services. Prior to the presentations, entrepreneurs had a chance to network with attendees and share their mission. While Access Trax did not win top 3 that night, Kelly delivered a strong pitch and wowed the audience with her passion. This was the first professional presentation, and certainly not the last!
