A Look at Chess in the Park

These are just scenes from the last 2 Chess in the Park events. Our community has been blessed this unique opportunity to engage with not only each other and our kids, but also with IMPD, the Northwest CRDC, Aspirehouse, the NNW and Inner City Chess Club. Surprises like Chief Bryan Roach showing up, have happened as well as being seen on Fox 59 and Channel 6 news! Food and refreshments, laughs and learning are in abundance so come down to Frank Young Park (corner of Udell and Radar St.) on Sundays from 2 to 4pm! Come play with us!

CALLING ALL ARTISTS

Our community has a series of paying projects that require a variety of art disciplines. This is your chance to attend an informational gathering to find out how you can be a part of this opportunity and represent our area! Artists of ALL disciplines and stages are welcome!

How does food tell the story of our community? We are the seeking recipes and stories to compile into a community cookbook, which will showcase the rich flavors of the Northwest Area and be passed down for generations to come.

Guggman Haus Brewing Takes the Gold!

Within six weeks of opening, Guggman Haus Brewing Co. took home three gold medals from the 21st Annual Indiana Brewer's Cup Competition put on by the Indiana State Fair. The Riverside, a New England India Pale Ale (IPA) named for our Riverside neighborhood, one first place against 44 other IPAs from professional breweries in and out of state. The Riverside is a juicy, fruity IPA with a hazy appearance. Guggman Haus recently served The Riverside at Shakespeare in the Park and donated proceeds from each beer sold back to the performance company. Come try The Riverside and other hand crafted beer at 1701 Gent Ave near 16th Street!
