Friend, in the picture above you can see our elementary class holding their awards that were given out at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Some awards were Students of the Year, Most Improved Students, Supervisor Award, Monitor Awards, etc. The kids were so happy to be recognized for their hard work. The celebration was also a farewell party for Lada Sablina (top right in photo) and recognition of the amazing job she did all year with the kids. The kids will miss her, but we hope she'll be back to visit soon.

Thanks to the generosity of our Belgian friends and some businesses here in Zambia, our four oldest children (Elias, Chola, Queenie, & Theresa) got the opportunity to take a 2 week camping trip throughout northern Zambia. They'll be visiting Lake Tanganika, several waterfalls, some hot springs, and going on safari drives. This is going to be an unforgettable experience for them. If all goes well this will be an annual excursion so that all our children will get the chance to take this trip. Most Zambians don't have this amazing opportunity and our children are definitely blessed!

Meet Jenni: she is our new teacher for the elementary class. Jenni comes from Colorado Springs and has been a math/science teacher for 12 years. This is her first extended international trip and she is already doing so well. We are excited to see all that the kids will learn from her over the next year. School starts on August 30 with orientation and the first day of school is September 2.
Our kindergarten/first grade teacher resigned suddenly so we have enrolled that class into a local community school. They are improving their local language skills and getting to interact more with their peers from within the community. Since they will eventually attend our upper grades, we are still actively looking for a teacher for our 'Learning to Read' classroom. If you know of  any teachers (or are one) who would like to come and work with our wonderful children, please get in touch.
It's fall again, which means we'll be sharing our good news in the States and inviting partners to join with us in our exciting projects.
Amy is arriving September 2 and beginning to speak at churches. First up is Pine Valley Church in Houston. Please call or email to set up appointments to visit or for Amy to speak.
In November both Tom and Amy will be attending Mission Training Institute in Colorado Springs for 4 weeks of mission training. We are hoping to gain insight into building a great missions team here in Zambia.
