Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

Dear SJB Families,
We are counting down the days! Our teachers return full time to school this week, though we really started last week with a beautiful staff retreat at the Blessing House in Victoria. We had fun together getting acquainted and reacquainted with friends. Our focus was on our mission as a St. John’s Family, and how we can support each other in our mission this school year.

Don’t Forget Open House/Back to School Night! Join us this Thursday! Stop by any time between 3:30 pm and 6 pm to greet the teachers, see the classrooms, and have school pictures taken. Students should come dressed for their pictures. Uniforms are not required for school pictures. Sign up for your picture package online by clicking here. The open house is also the time that you will receive our detailed SJB School Calendar and Family Handbooks (both of which will be available online throughout the school year). We will also have lunch account information and forms from the Jordan School District. Students are welcome to bring their school supplies so as to not weigh them down on their first day!

KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES
After dropping the kids off on the first day, stay! Stay for a few minutes and enjoy a treat, some coffee, and conversation with other SJB families!

Prepare for the year by joining in!

We have so many opportunities to get involved at St. John’s! One great way to get to know others and see old friends is during the Heimatfest Parade on September 7th. All parents and students are welcome to come walk or ride in the parade! Please arrive by 10:15 am in the school parking lot. The sixth-grade families will be putting the float together.

Do you need before school or after school care for your child? During our Open House this coming Thursday you will be able to choose the dates your child will attend Saints Squad, and we will be available to answer questions. Before school care begins at 7:00 am, and students are released to their classrooms at 7:45 am. Breakfast is not served, but if you’d like to send something to eat with your child, you are welcome to do so. Before school care is $5 per child, per day. After school care begins right after school and closes at 5:45 pm. Students are given an afternoon snack, have the opportunity to work on homework, and play with friends. After school care is $11 per child, per day

Be sure to come to our Curriculum Night/Parent Meeting on September 19th at 6pm. This is a really important event to attend as an SJB parent. First, we will welcome you with some really helpful information on our school, then your child’s teacher will be with you to describe all you can expect in your child’s new class. We’ll feed you some yummy snacks along the way as you get to know your child’s teacher and other SJB parents!
