Dear <<First Name>>,

See you in Oakland?

I'm extremely excited to attend the Regenerative Food System Investment Forum in Oakland Sept 30th - Oct 1st!

So many people I interviewed in this podcast will be there: David R Montgomery, Eric Jackson, Bert Glover, Paul McMahon, Renee Cheung, Chuck de Liedekerke, Ethan Soloviev, Craig Wichner, Esther Park

Hear more in this short podcast with organiser Sarah Day Levesque on why she put together this conference and how she managed for the first time to get this group of regen ag stars together in one room!

Many thanks,
Koen

How the $ 100M SLM fund handled the six driest years on record
A check-in interview with Tony Lovell, co-founder and CEO of SLM Partners

I have interviewed Tony in 2016. It was time to check in on how the fund is doing. What do you do when you get hit by 6 years of extreme drought during the first 7 years of the fund?

My thoughts:
As SLM is one of the few regen funds that raised more than 100M, many (institutional) investors will be looking at them and see how they develop. For the regen ag space it is crucial that SLM does well!

Forget about soil, Focus on plant health instead
John Kempf, the founder of Advancing Eco Agriculture, serving over 2 million acres!

Topic: Helping farmers and growers to become much more profitable by focussing on plant health and how that builds healthy soils.

My thoughts: With all my talk about soil, I sometimes forget how soil is made, through healthy plant and tree roots. John has been quietly building a successful company focussing on profitability (and healthy plants and soils)

Leading the $15B food giant General Mills towards regen ag
An interview with Mary Jane Melendez, VP, Chief Sustainability & Social Impact Officer at General Mills. Why did they got interested in regen ag and food and how do you move a giant?

My thoughts:
We can all agree that we need big food companies to become part of the regen transition/revolution because of the scale and resources they can bring to the table, but how? General Mills seems by far the most active and deserves our (critical) attention!
