This month, the Board of Directors and members of our internal team held our annual mid-year retreat, setting the course for the rest of 2019 as we seek to accomplish our goals of improving the experience for SDCBA members and expanding our service to the greater legal community. Our team is highly energized to make the remainder of this year fantastic for our members and the community at large and to pave the way for an even more exciting 2020.

If you’d like to raise your visibility in the legal community, consider running for Section or New Lawyer Division (NLD) Leadership. Our volunteer leaders play an integral role in the vibrancy and success of our law practice sections and NLD. The nomination period opens September 5. Learn more about the election process here.

Save the Dates! Our 2019 Bench-Bar Luncheon series is starting in a few weeks. Luncheons will take place on September 11, September 18, October 2, and October 16. Space is limited, so if you are interested in attending, please register in advance here.

Also, September is Back to School time, which means it is also Back to Mock Trial time. The San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition Committee is preparing for the 2019-2020 season and needs volunteer Attorney Coaches to help train and guide the students in the basics of trial advocacy. Go to the new Mock Trial website at sdmocktrial.org.
