As I prepared for my week ahead, took a mental note of what I needed to get done I recognized I told myself,

I can’t do that it's too muchInstantly I was in overwhelm & experiencing impatience, even before I had even TIRED!

This was my default habitual response that had been imbedded deep into my mind.

I told myself I wasn't able to do something without even giving it a chance, I quit & gave up before I even started.

This was a  big AHA!! moment for me, WHY?

I was able to recognize that thought, a negative thought, send it on its way & immediately started exploring “How can I get things done?!”


How was I able to have this breakthrough? Awareness

Through awareness practice habitual patterns of behavior positive or negative) can be recognized and over time can be disrupted. 

Awareness is key to resolving negative habitual responses and reinforcing positive ones.

As we recognize what is happening in the moment, each time an experience arises a new awareness is created, we become aware a little more quickly until eventually recognizing the tendency the very instant it arises. Just like what happened to me yesterday!

At this point you get to exercise the freedom of CHOICE, I got to choose, you get to choose, with awareness we have choices! The stronger your awareness, the greater understanding of your tendencies, which leads to making a choice  .

Mediation is great way to become aware as you develop the powerful habit of coming back to and focusing on your breath.

Did you just find yourself saying I don’t know how to meditate or mediation is hard” or "I don't have time for that"?

Is that a habitual response to something you’ve never tried or tried once? 

How about start by spending 60 seconds feeling your lunges expand as it fills with air and collapses as you exhale.

In the next 60 seconds every time a thought enters your mind, shift attention on the inhale and exhale.

This is meditation, the beginning of awareness.
