Teen Science Cafés for Lifelong Impact
Teen Science Cafés empower teens to grasp the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics discoveries changing our lives.  The Cafés open doors to these careers by connecting teens with professionals who share their passion and enthusiasm for their work.  Teen Cafés enhance teens' ability to use facts to support scientific points of view, to consider societal impacts of discoveries, and fortify science as a cornerstone in their lives.

The Importance of the Adult Leader

The “secret of success” of the Teen Science Café model is that it is designed to be both for and by the teens. This is one of the six Core Design Principles of the Teen Science Café Network. However, great Adult Leadership helps guide the successes of the Teen Leaders in Teen Science Cafés. As we begin a new season of teen science cafés, we are grateful for all the adult leaders who continually inspire the teen leaders in their growth as leaders.  Through your efforts to guide the local programs, you are providing a critical stepping stone for teens all across the U.S. and beyond to explore and expand their STEM knowledge, interest, engagment and identity.  We thank you for your generosity!

Welcome Our New Members

With the addition of the South Carolina Aquarium, our Network now has 8 Aquaria!
Thank you for all our Aquaria members and keep promoting Teen Cafés to your colleagues!

The South Carolina Aquarium Teen Science Café hopes to bring teens in (ages 13-17) to learn about various science topics that relate to the Aquarium. We’ll have pizza or some sort of snack and will work with community partner, and hope to offer at least 4 cafés a year.

Inside will give students the chance to explore the front lines of STEM by making innovation accessible. Each month, we invite speakers from a variety of fields to share their insights among aspiring scientists and engineers. We encourage our community of young thinkers to delve further into interests by connecting them with experts with whom they can pursue further opportunities. We also hold a weekly podcast featuring both presenters and students.

Join the Teen Science Café movement today!
If you have colleagues working in STEM outreach, we would appreciate your alerting them to the opportunity of participating in the Teen Science Café Network. Membership is free, and members get all the help they need in starting and successfully running a Teen Science Café program.
