RCCD Foundation Newsletter
Executive Director's Corner
I am so excited about what we have in store for the 2019-20 fiscal year. After over two years of inward-facing work focused on updating the organization’s internal operations and structures, we are turning our focus outward to our community. The recently approved RCCD Foundation Strategic Plan – the first ever comprehensive strategic plan in the organization’s history - is a major turning point for us, marking the beginning of our growth and development into a robust fundraising operation benefiting all three RCCD colleges. Plans for this year include a dramatic expansion of our social media and marketing efforts, new stewardship opportunities for our major donors & sponsors, and more concerted efforts to connect face-to-face with our alumni and supporters who help us meet our philanthropic mission.
I am grateful each day for the opportunity to serve the Riverside Community College District. It is humbling to meet and engage with so many wonderful and generous people in my community and I appreciate each and every donor for making my work so fulfilling. If I can be of any assistance in making your philanthropic dreams a reality, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My door is always open!

With gratitude,

Launa

The Riverside Community College District Foundation has received a grant from Bank of America in order to address economic mobility for individuals and families and put them on a path toward financial stability. The $25,000 grant will fund resources for workforce development and education pathways that will assist students to chart a path to better economic futures, as well as basic needs that are fundamental to building lifelong stability.

Specifically, this grant will be used to support an initiative to increase the number of historically underrepresented populations — women, Veterans, foster youth as well as individuals with disabilities — interested in pursuing a career in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field.

“Bank of America has been a strong corporate partner to the Riverside Community College District for over twenty years,” said Launa Wilson, executive director, RCCD Foundation. “The RCCD Foundation staff and board of directors are grateful for this generous grant supporting a major District initiative. This Grant will make a significant impact throughout our region.”
