This year marks 25 years since the closing of Lowry Air Force Base and the transition into the vibrant Lowry Neighborhood we know and love today. To celebrate this milestone occasion, the Lowry Community Master Association and Lowry Foundation, together with Wings Over the Rockies and others, have put together a weekend of festivities. Mark your calendar for the first weekend of October!
On Friday, October 4, join neighbors and former Lowry military personnel for a happy hour at Lowry Beer Garden from 3-6 p.m. This will be a fun and relaxed evening where you can chat with fellow Lowry residents, as well as connect with people who were stationed here during the active Air Force Base days. Enjoy some good food, good beer, and good conversation!
On Saturday, October 5, head to Wings Over the Rockies Museum. You can join the Lowry Foundation for a bus tour of historic Lowry, and enjoy a family friendly day at Wings Over the Rockies. The Museum will be open, at regular admission, from 10-2 with lots of extra activities indoors and out. The Museum will close early because the evening of the 5th is our headline event, taking place in the hangar!
On Saturday evening, join us from 5:30-10:00 p.m. for an adults only gala celebration of everything Lowry. In this stunning setting among historic aircraft, enjoy small bites and craft drinks from a variety of local Lowry purveyors, including Officers Club, Lowry Beer Garden, and North County (cash bar). Legendary Denver radio personality Rick Crandall will emcee the evening, including a special recognition ceremony to honor Lowry alumni and other military veterans, as well as those who have made Lowry what it is today.
You'll want to dance the night away with live music all evening provided by the
Beverly Belles, Frank Sinatra impersonator Derek Evilsizor and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, and headliner
Chris Daniels and the Kings. This unmissable gala will truly celebrate the best of Lowry. Gala tickets are only $35, $25 for veterans. Don't wait,
buy your tickets now! Lowry has never held an event like this before; you won't want to wait another 25 years for the next one.
