Worship this Sunday

This Sunday we are fortunate to host a guest in worship:
A WORK OF ART!

This ART is a banner which was created during the Our Movement Forward gathering held here in the Twin Cities last May (click to view the Worship Bulletin above to see a preview.) As people from all over the country expressed their vision for the future of the church, the image - depicting the movement of Spirit - took shape.
The banner was then present during the MN Annual Conference in June, and is now traveling among churches throughout the state.

We are now the second church to experience this creation.
Thank you, Cathy Velasquez Eberhart, for your quick sign up!
Next, we will pass it along to Community UMC.

Sunday during worship, we will hear from Elizabeth Joncas, Cathy Velasquez Eberhart and Judy WestLee, who attended the OMF gathering; Ann DeGroot will join them as we then explore what the banner stirs in us and our vision for the future. It won't be the same without you!

Jumpin' Jehosafats - this Saturday!

Saturday evening at 7:00 we kick off our
10TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY CONCERT SERIES!
The beneficiary is MN Council of Churches Refugee Services.
You won't want to miss it!!

The Jumping' Jehosafats have had toes tappin' and hands clappin' along to Dixieland, gospel and "all that jazz" for more years than anybody in the band cares to count.
These musicians have played in and outside the United States, often raising money for organizations doing good work in the world.

The music will be JUMPIN!
Treats afterward will be YUMMY!
And the conversation to be had with friends and visitors is a rare opportunity to find common threads!

Twin Cities Global Climate Strike - next Friday, 9/20

For the past year young people have been staging school strikes around the world, including Minnesota. On Friday September 20, at the request of our youth, people of all ages and across the globe will be walking out of our workplaces and homes to demand action on climate change. Cathy Velasquez Eberhart will be leading a conversation this Sunday after worship to discuss ways we can engage in Global Climate Strike activities as a congregation.

In the Twin Cities, Climate Strike participants are invited to gather at Western Sculpture Park (387 Marion St., St. Paul) for a march to the State Capitol.
To change everything, we need everyone joining together to stop "business as usual" and demand that our leaders take action. We hope you'll join us, whether in person or in spirit!
