Dear <<First Name>>,

This Sunday we continue our series exploring practices to help us take the next step on our spiritual path. Compassion and Justice are our topics this week.

Nancy Mairs writes: “That’s what we’re here for: to make the world new. We know what to do: seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly, treat every person as though she were yourself. These are not complicated instructions. It’s much harder to decipher the instructions for putting together a tricycle that it is to understand these.”

Is it that simple? What does it mean to work for justice compassionately? Is seeking justice just looking for revenge, or does our spiritual tradition of Christianity offer different ways of understanding justice? I hope you can join us as we explore these and other questions on Sunday.

By the way: I am curious to hear how it’s been for you to try out these practices. What has your experience been as you lived out the practices of Community, Service to Others, Gratefulness and Generosity? I would love to hear what you felt, how it went, what happened, and what you learned. You can send me an email at pastor@ppmcc.org.

Peace,

  2. Do you know a business who might be willing to sponsor the event? We have sponsorship levels of $250, $500, and $1000, with varying levels of perks. To find out more about sponsorships, please contact Jessica Kobylinski on the Board of Directors

Join us for a quick session to beautify our grounds before "Old Person Winter" visits us again, and before this year’s Bring It Bash.  We'll be trimming and pruning and raking and pulling, and it may just be session 1 of this project, depending on how far we get this time. Bring work gloves, rakes, shovels, and your favorite garden tools if you have some; if not, just come and use the tools others bring.

We'll have the coffee on. No need to sign up; just show up and lend a hand.  Contact Pastor Diane for more Information or call 719-233-8982.

Funky Little Theatre Co.
Presents OnThe Roof

A New Play by Donna Hoke
Directed by Christ Medina

Before we could get married, before we had Pride, before we were at Stonewall, we were ON THE ROOF.
Sept 20 - Oct 5
It's 1955 - post WWII, amid McCarthyism, years before Stonewall.  In this dangerous and difficult era, Mitzi operates a cabaret and gay bar where Cruz, a playboy bartender; Levi, an aspiring Braodway Composer: Bob a WWII vet; Mac, a guy who just wants camaraderie with his Coke; and Andy, a newcomer with a law degree struggle to find solidarity and courage--maybe even love--as they take the brave first steps toward revolution.

This is the first ever full production of the play features an award-winning cast and crew.  Tickets and more info about Funky Little Theatre here.
