During this experiential workshop, we will explore our personal role in supporting the revival of the values that worked so beautifully in Indigenous villages for thousands of years, as well as the effects of residential schools and Canada's policy of assimilation. This free full-day workshop is thought- and emotion-provoking, and geared toward solutions rather than recrimination.
Kathi Camilleri has a Master's in Leadership Studies and 23 years of experience in providing healing programs and consultation with aboriginal communities, health providers, social workers, governments and educators. Kathi is Cree/Métis, and her work has been inspired by Jann Derrick's teachings of "The Circle and the Box" and by many Elders' teachings.
Knowing Our Place is an initiative brought to you by the Bowen Island Public Library, the Hearth—Arts on Bowen, and Pauline Le Bel. The aim is to learn our true history with Indigenous peoples and to foster mutually-enhancing relationships.
