Here’s what’s happening in Sydney.
Happy Thursday, Fitt Fam! We’re heading into another weekend chock-full of activities — and we’re sprinting as fast as we can to get to one of our favourite running gatherings this Sunday. But before we get that far, you’ll have a chance to decompress with some free yoga (and puppies), hit the refresh button with a veggie-packed menu at a new Sydney restaurant, or relax with a touch of shopping in the CBD.

👟 Lace Up Your Running Shoes
The Sydney Marathon is back for another year—this Sunday—only weeks after the iconic City2Surf left joggers gasping for breath and grappling with their glutes up Heartbreak Hill. The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival will close off the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the day as some of the fastest and fittest athletes take to the tarmac for a 42km stretch. It’s not just the elite who will be pounding the pavement though, with more relaxed options of a 3.5km fun run, a 10km run, and a 21km half marathon (which unfortunately just sold out) also on offer for those wanting an unforgettable, scenic cardio session.

🙌 Stop, Revive, Thrive
One of the hottest group-based Pilates studios around is expanding its Sydney footprint — Vive Active is launching a new facility at Double Bay in the Eastern Suburbs. If you’ve never taken a Vive class, it may seem more like a nightclub than a fitness space, complete with state-of-the-art LED lighting and mood-boosting playlist, but don’t let the aesthetics fool you — you’ll be working up a sweat doing an intense Pilates reformer workout designed by a man once dubbed as Australia’s Fittest Athlete, World Champion Ironman Guy Leech. The Double Bay studio officially opens 17 September; get excited!

🐾 Puppies Make Everything Better
Sydney venue The Soda Factory has partnered with the not-for-profit organisation R U OKAY? to hold a fundraising event all in the name of mental health, utilising music and puppies. The bar is holding a Friday afternoon session tomorrow (13 September) featuring free yoga, meditation, puppy cuddles, and live music. It’s all about checking in on your mates and making sure mental health woes aren’t dragging them down — so, whether there’s yoga and animal companionship involved or not, you should take a moment and ask them: “are you okay?”

🌿 Step Into The Garden of Eden
World-famous Bondi Beach is continuing to lead the way as Sydney’s prime space to grab a plant-based meal, with the latest offering, Eden Bondi, finally opening its doors for all those “kombrujas” and kale queens looking for their latest fix. The vegan venue is an initiative by Bondi locals Simon Hill and Tanya Smart, with a menu by Claudia Pantoja (formerly of Alibi Bar & Kitchen) featuring a range of mouth-watering options including Watermelon Poke, magical green sliders, and Popcorn Cauliflower. There’s also a range of pizzas and bowls, as well as an extensive cocktail menu — best enjoyed in their garden courtyard as the weather heats up.
