Dear Portland IMIrJ leaders and friends,
We are excited to gather with you tonight (Tuesday) evening!
We will meet from 6:30-8:30 pm in Portland at St. Michaels and All Angels (1704 NE 43rd Ave,).
If you have a few minutes before we gather, here are things you can do to help us make the most of our time together:
- Reflect: What does "home" (in its most hopeful, aspirational sense) mean to you?
- Consider: What have you been seeing/hearing/doing in your congregation or broader community related to immigration? What are 2-3 local highlights or key moments from this summer?
- Review: If you've already been involved with IMIrJ, what are some lessons you've learned from our collective work and campaigns over the past year (Sheridan/Let Our People Go, No on Measure 105, 2019 Legislative Advocacy on Drivers' Licenses, etc.)?
- Think Ahead: What questions do you have about IMIrJ's current campaign to get ICE Out of Oregon Courthouses and Communities? Who are 2-3 new or emerging leaders in your faith community that you could invite to join our shared work in the months ahead?
Hope to see you soon. We'll have plenty of yummy snacks and drinks ready!
Take care,
Alaide & Abby
