A lot of the NewsMatch team is at the ONA Conference this week. Whether you're here in person or following along online, we invite you to join us for lunch tomorrow for a sneak peak at this year's campaign messaging.

We also just added a brand new toolkit to the Campaign HQ to help you with local matches. 

Finally, we want to welcome a new member to the NewsMatch team. Kip Dooley is a journalist and educator who recently finished his graduate degree at American University. Kip will working with us to support all of you throughout this year's campaign. Welcome, Kip!

NewsMatch at #ONA19 — and Livestreaming 

Tomorrow from 12pm to 2pm Central Time join Knight Foundation, the Institute for Nonprofit News, News Revenue Hub and other NewsMatch participants for a lunch and conversation about this year's campaign.

We’ll be joined by Mission Partners, the firm we’re working with to develop this year’s campaign, to give you a preview of this year’s campaign look and messaging.

Local Match resources added to NewsMatch Campaign HQ! 

The NewsMatch Campaign HQ is a place where NewsMatch participants can go to get updates, browse resources or seek help. Have you checked it out yet?

Many of you have asked for advice on how to go about securing additional matches. We created a new local match toolkit for you and your Board. You'll find tips, talking points, outreach letters and slide deck that you can customize and make your own.

Building out your NewsMatch.org profile 

NewsMatch.org is the central website where the public can look up participating newsrooms and make donations to multiple organizations at once. If you had a page last year, you can log in anytime to update your page. If this is your first NewsMatch, you'll need to create a new profile for your organization.

Instructions for both new and returning organizations can be found in the Campaign HQ.

In the meantime, here are some of the common FAQs we receive: 

How much will be matched?
NewsMatch will match up to $1,000 per donor. The maximum amount each organization can receive will be announced by the end of September.

What is the eligible donation time period for the match?
Donations received from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31 are eligible for the match. Unfulfilled pledges and donations dated after Dec. 31 are not eligible.

What donations count?
NewsMatch will match any donation from an individual (up to $1,000) to a participating organization.

Do donations made by individuals through a business, foundation or donor advised fund count?
Yes, if they can reasonably be seen as coming from individuals supporting your work.

INN Labs NewsMatch Support

The team at INN Labs is available now through the end of 2019 to help NewsMatch participants improve their website donation flows, add important messaging and media to their sites, and learn how to use existing tools to optimize their end-of-year campaigns.
