Host a Teacher from Germany in 2020

Boost speaking confidence and the intercultural dimension in your school by welcoming a teacher from Germany for 1, 2 or 3 weeks in spring/summer 2020.
 
"German is no longer such an abstract concept for our pupils. They have been able to connect with German pupils and Germany. I would recommend every school to apply."

Festive Funding: Magical Christmas Trips

Give your primary pupils a taste of Germany at Christmas time and the opportunity to meet their peers in Germany.

Apply for financial support of up to £10,000 for an intercultural visit to an existing partner school this Christmas.

Cultural Exchange Ambassadors*:

Encourage your Language Assistant to become a Cultural Exchange Ambassador!

By partnering up with an English Language Assistant in Germany, they can connect your pupils with a class in Germany and run fun cultural projects together.

Deadline reminder: youth seminars this autumn

Are your pupils interested in sustainable consumption or growing up in post-conflict societies?

Would they like to get together with like-minded young people from Germany and get to grips with these topics?

Applications are still open for two upcoming youth seminars taking place in Berlin and Leipzig.

British Council school partnerships seminar

Would you like to set up a pupil exchange visit but don't yet have a partner school?

In cooperation with UK-German Connection, the British Council is running a fully-funded seminar in the run-up to Christmas 2019 in Duisburg to help schools to set up a school partnership and plan an exchange, for which grants are also available.
