Fall 2019 - Art and Social Activism

The energy from my busy summer has not slowed one bit! On Wednesday, I was in New Jersey at Johnson and Johnson, and we dropped a spoon right on their front door. (Find Out More) I hope that J&J becomes the first to step up to the plate and offer restitution to the opioid stricken communities, viable solutions to restore the lives of those who have been affected by the opioid crisis, admission of guilt and the end of their dangerous, addictive opioid production and distribution.

Also, in this newsletter, I am introducing some new work!

Opioid Spoon Series

I am proud to announce two new 18" spoon series to the collection that symbolizes human injustices in our society. The metal spoon replications honor and represent my own family’s struggle and those of the thousands of families who have lost loved ones to this epidemic.⠀⠀⠀⠀

The 30-piece “Accountability” sculpture series are cast in solid silicon bronze and are in-line with Domenic’s protest work. This series is a replica of the original Purdue Pharma Spoon and represents the accountability that we demand those responsible for the opioid crisis to be held. Each spoon in this series is 18" long and 12.7lbs.⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 100-piece “Hope” sculpture series are cast in solid nickel-plated aluminum and were inspired by The OSP’s recent Honor Signature Tour. Before starting the tour, the spoon was a blank slate, and I thought how nice it would be if one-day we never had to have the names inside the spoon. The hope is that one day we won’t have to. Each spoon in this series is 18" long, and 5lbs.⠀⠀

Both series of 18" spoons are for individual sale, and all proceeds will benefit The Opioid Spoon Project, a registered 501-c3 non-profit. Email us at theopioidspoonproject@gmail.com to inquire about purchasing from these limited series, and help end the opioid crisis.⠀⠀
