There are 7,388 known living languages in the world, and known active translation and/or linguistic development happening in 2,846 languages in 157 countries.  As of 1 October 2022, over 128 million people, using 1,680 different languages are waiting to for initial Bible translation work to begin. Bible translation is so much more than just giving people the written Scriptures. It is also about meeting their deepest needs and flourishing in their communities using the language they value most through education and engagement with Scripture.
