OCT 6-12: Public Power Week & Public Natural Gas Week -- get graphics & resources from MPUA website

The first full week of October (Oct. 6-12, 2019) is BOTH Public Power Week, and Public Natural Gas Week. To assist utilities with events and observations, MPUA has once again adapted and provided customized versions of APPA's and APGA's public outreach templates, and copies of the graphic resources, for these public utility weeks.

The files are available for download on MPUA’s Public Outreach webpage.
The resources include:
  • TEMPLATES: news releases, op-ed, proclamations, guest column/speech, letter to public officials
  • GRAPHICS: Logos (for both events), PPW infographic, PPW coloring sheets, PPW print ad, and social media graphics for both weeks.

Benchmark salaries with the 2019 Public Power Salary Survey Report

APPA has published its 2019 Public Power Salary Survey Report. With the report, you can compare your utility’s salary structure for 27 management and 25 non-management positions to others in the public power community. Salaries are summarized nationally and broken down by revenue class, customer size, and region.

Each APPA member utility that completed the 2019 survey should be receiving a free copy of the full final report from APPA. If your utility did not participate in the survey this year, APPA members can order a paid copy of the report  from the APPA Product Store.

Hometown Connections & Sagewell to offer Electrification Growth Consulting and EV Load Management

Hometown Connections, Inc., the utility services organization, and Sagewell, Inc., have announced a partnership to offer community-owned utilities carbon emissions reducing load growth consulting and electric vehicle (EV) load management.

Helping Community-owned Utilities Increase Revenues through Electrification Programs: Sagewell designs and implements electrification programs that improve utility bottom lines. With Sagewell’s assistance, public power utilities can grow their revenues and margins, reduce electric rates, reduce costs, and save carbon all at the same time. When residential electric customers switch home heating from fossil fuels such as natural gas, propane or heating oil to high efficiency heat pumps, or from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric vehicles, utilities are able to grow their business significantly. - READ MORE (Hometown Connections website)
