Ohio Dairy Farm to School Kit
The American Dairy Association Mideast, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Agriculture, will provide Ohio schools with an Ohio Dairy Farm to School kit. The kit includes resources such as posters, fun dairy facts and recipes that can be used in the classroom or cafeteria to celebrate National Farm to School Month and teach students about where dairy foods come from. Checkoff-developed Toasted Cheddar Chalupa Goes Nationwide 
Taco Bell's new product, developed with support from a dairy checkoff food scientist, features cheddar cheese baked into the chalupa shell. The company has used six-month aged sharp cheddar cheese and baked it on to create a "crispy blanket of flavor and texture, unlocking a whole new cheese experience." The Toasted Cheddar Chalupa comes with a choice of beef, chicken or steak, as well as classic toppings like lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese and sour cream for just $2.49.

July U.S. Dairy Exports Paced by Increased Sales to Mexico 
In July, U.S. exporters shipped nearly 48,000 tons of milk powders, cheese, whey, lactose and butterfat to Mexico, which was 12% more than last year. Dairy products moving south of the border were valued at $134.7 million, an increase of 30%. Nonfat dry milk/skim milk powder and cheese volume were up 9% and 16%, respectively, while lactose shipments reached a record high of 6,396 tons, a 74% increase. On a total milk solids basis, U.S. exports were equivalent to 14.0% of U.S. milk solids production in July. In the first seven months of the year, exports accounted for 14.1% of production.
