Wirral Older People's Parliament Wirral Disability Forum Relaunched

Wirral Older People’s Parliament, with support from Healthwatch Wirral, are relaunching the Wirral Disability Forum as part of their Disability Campaigning. The forum is for anyone with a disability, caring for someone with a disability or a former carer. Wirral OPP have the support of Wirral Borough Council and will be reporting back to their All Age Disability Board to add experiences and issues to the decision making.

The first forum will be held at 10 Bentinck Street, Birkenhead on Tuesday 24th September 2 - 4pm. Wirral OPP will be moving around Wirral venues for greater accessibility in the future.

Health and Social Care Committee launch inquiry into dental services

Dentistry has been a part of the NHS since its inception in 1948. In 1951, charges for dentures, the first charges of any kind for NHS treatment, were introduced. Other charges were later introduced for dental services.

The House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee is holding an inquiry into dentistry services and are inviting evidence from the public, organisations and others with relevant expertise.

The new Wirral Health and Care Commissioning website has launched!

Wirral Health and Care Commissioning (WHCC), a partnership between Wirral Council and NHS Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group, has launched their new website.

The integrated organisation commissions the majority of health and care services in Wirral and the integrated approach means that they can work together to provide more seamless and effective services to people.
