Hi everyone,

We will be offering a free Intro Beekeeping class next Tuesday, September 10th. Immediately afterward we will be counting the varroa mites in our hives as part of an international initiative to monitor mite infestation. (More info here: https://www.pollinator.org/miteathon)

Tuesday, September 10th - Intro Beekeeping - 10:55am-11:45am Room 325 CULC

This one-hour one-time class is a prerequisite for participating in any of our hive inspections. The class covers basic honey bee biology and apiculture safety.

For directions to the building visit: http://bees.gatech.edu/directions

No registration required.

Afterward, at 12pm, we will be inspecting our hives on the roof of CULC and counting mites. If you would like to participate, please wear or bring loose, long pants (khakis or light jeans are good), full coverage shoes, and a light long-sleeved loose shirt (like a button-down). We will be suiting up in room 580 CULC.
