THANK YOU to the 3,100 who gathered in prayer for last week's annual Mass of the Holy Spirit on the Plaza Outside O'Neill Library. The Mass is a centuries-old tradition at Jesuit high schools, colleges, and universities around the world and is considered one of the starts to the academic year.
2. WORTH SHARING
  • 4Boston – BC's largest student program – is accepting applications through Monday, Sept. 9. Learn more at bc.edu/4boston.
  • The Examen – a foundation of Ignatian spirituality – gives us the time and space to be present to ourselves. Join us at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Manresa House (58 College Rd.) for this 10-minute, peer-led prayer – a perfect opportunity to be grounded as you begin the new school year.
  • Continue cultivating what you learned on Kairos through the new Live the Fourth Retreat. This is an on-campus retreat offered throughout the semester. Registration closes on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Sign up and learn more.
  • Applications for the Jamaica Mustard Seed spring break service trip are due Monday, Sept. 23. Spend the week among marginalized populations in Jamaica, including children and adults with disabilities, children with HIV/AIDS, and young mothers. Learn more and apply here.
  • Join Tim Moriarty, '08, for a screening of his film The Field Afar, based on the life of Fr. Vincent Capodanno. Held Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in McGuinn 121. A Q&A with the director to follow.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of the Candlelight Mass, offered nightly Monday through Thursday in the St. Joseph's Chapel at 10 p.m. Bring a friend; all are welcome.

4. WEEKLY COLLECTION
This week's collection will support Catholic Relief Services and other organizations in their efforts to aid those affected by Hurricane Dorian. At least 20 people have died in the Bahamas and entire neighborhoods were destroyed. Your generosity offers relief, in the form of food, emergency shelter, and safe water, to affected families. Thank you for your support.
