Why are we so excited???

Autumn is nearly here!

We've got so much planned and we've been looking forward to telling you all about it!
Work plans, new ways to get involved and lots of activities are coming your way.

But first....

What's going on with Huxley Hedgehog & Friends?

While Huxley's got his feet up, some of our more mature lady hogs have mated for a second time and are repeating the events of the last couple of months, however, their natural diet becomes scarcer in the autumn, so late litters struggle to gain the fat reserves necessary for hibernation and need our help.
You can help our prickly little friends in a number of ways... Can you put a feeding station in your garden to help our hogs? Or perhaps a hibernation home?

Our friends at Devon Wildife Trust have a number of other ways you can help, on their site, here: www.devonwildlifetrust.org

Let's get ready for a really Wild Exmouth Autumn...

We have started to make plans for our wildlife habitat work, which will be taking place throughout Autumn - tree planting, wildflower spaces and other habitat creation, we'll be taking action for butterflies, bees, frogs and other friends.

Keep an eye out for new wildlife areas appearing in your local green spaces and reply to this email if you would like to get involved in making this happen!

Our work parties start again, next month, after the summer break for holiday events - open to all, come along, have fun, get fit and meet new people!

Do you have a real passion for identifying, photographing or surveying wildlife? Have a passion for plants? Love lepidoptera? Adore amphibians?  (Don't worry, Debs has run out of alliteration!)

How would you like to help Wildlife in Exmouth?

From making place for nature in your windowbox to carrying out plant surveys, we want to hear from you!  We will help you to develop the skills you need and help you to find opportunities to make Exmouth a bit more wild.

Just reply to this email to let Debs know you'd like to get involved and we'll find exactly the right role for you.
What's so great about Wild Exmouth?

With your help, we've already achieved so much since we started in January!

With people from all over Exmouth, we've improved access and habitats, carried out wildflower and sensory herb planting, we've carried out pond clearance, making a healthier habitat and a prettier park and, of course, we've created opportunities for everyone to get involved in a wide range of fun and educational activities and, of course, opened the newest Community Nature Reserve for Exmouth!

We can't wait for the next round of work parties, surveying and events to start.

Want to get involved? Just reply to this email to contact Debs who will give you a call and help you to find the right way for you to join in.
