It's hard to believe that September is upon us and we are quickly approaching a change of season. This summer Comfort Food Community has had it's share of transformation and growth which has undoubtedly strengthened our community.

Much focus has been placed on our move to the Food Center, however we would like to acknowledge all of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to bring healthy food to our pantries. We are incredibly grateful for the partnership that we have with our local farms. Without their support we would not be able to offer access to healthy produce which fulfills the needs of our immediate community, as well as our mobile produce distribution program.

Comfort Food Community is lucky enough to work with local farmers that provide us with opportunities to glean, receive donations and purchase produce at low cost. All resulting in fresh fruits and vegetables for those in need.

Thank you to everyone involved, not only during peak season, but throughout the entire year. We appreciate you!

Pantry Stats
In August the Greenwich and Cossayuna food pantries saw a record 461 pantry visits averaging 115 visits per week serving a total of 1,311 individuals

Join us for our Community Potluck and Open House!

Our annual potluck and pig roast is right around the corner and this year's event is going to be extra special! We will be hosting at the newly opened Comfort Food Community Food Center.

Festivities will be held outside, however we're excited to share that the event will also serve as our official open house!

We hope you'll join us on Saturday, September 21st from 4:30-6:30PM at 2530 Route 40 in Greenwich.

Staff and Board Members from CFC will be giving tours of the space throughout the entire event. Over the past few months we have watched the transformation of our new home and we can't wait for everyone in the community to see! All are welcome and encouraged to bring a dish to share. Comfort Food Community and the Greenwich Youth Center present: Edible Education

We're excited to announce our first cooking program at the Food Center! In collaboration with the Greenwich Youth Center, we will be hosting our first youth cooking class in October.

With access to a commercial kitchen we can now offer safe and fun educational programming that will aim to provide kids with the skills and knowledge they need to eat healthy and enjoy real, fresh food.

We're looking for a group of 3rd-6th graders to join our team of kid chefs, as well as adults who enjoy cooking and being in the kitchen.
