September 7, 2019
Dear IB Families,
Please make plans to join us on Wednesday, September 25, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Woodrow Auditorium for our annual IB Parent Information Meeting. Come and get answers to all the questions that you have about the WWHS IB Program. When you leave, you will have a better understanding of how the program works, how a student earns the IB Diploma, what you can do to help your child prepare for college, and how our IB students are performing overall. We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
Dr. Ritchie

DISD POLICY CHANGE REGARDING CLASS RANKINGS
Many of you have contacted me inquiring about the district's decision to change the way class rank is calculated for DISD students. On Monday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m., Dustin Marshall, DISD School Board Trustee, as well as members of DISD senior leadership will be hosting a town hall meeting for all interested parents, students, and community stakeholders. I encourage you and your students to attend this meeting and to hear about the policy changes and to share any comments or concerns.
There is also a parent representative for this matter who spoke at the Woodrow SBDM meeting this week. Brad Adams is working to keep parents informed during this process. If you would like more information, please contact Mr. Adams and he will add you to the distribution list. This communication list is for all parents of students at Woodrow as the changes will affect any student in any advanced academic course--AP, STEM, IB, etc., so please feel free to share this information with anyone interested in this issue.
