Gathering: Paint in the Park

Neighbourhood Arts Ottawa’s next gathering is a family-friendly, open-air event this fall where local artists set-up to paint in a live, outdoor setting at Minto Park on Elgin Street. The community at large is welcome to walk through and interact with the artists as they work on their pieces, showing the public a glimpse into the production process, while offering an alternative creative space for artists to step out of their studios and engage with each other and with the wider community.

La communauté au large est invitée à parcourir le parc et à interagir avec les artistes qui travaillent sur leurs œuvres, offrant ainsi au public un aperçu du processus de production artistique, tout en offrant un espace de création alternatif aux artistes

Welcome to a new team member
We are pleased to announce that Alex Zabloski joined our team as our new Administrative Assistant! Alex is a Rideau Award-nominated sound artist, multi-instrumentalist and theatrical performer. He has worked as a musician, composer and sound designer in theatre with the Ottawa Stilt Union and Filament Theatre, and has had original compositions premiered in Toronto (Castle for solo oboe, 2013) and Ottawa (Music for Flute, Oboe and Delay, 2012). In addition to performing solo, he has played with the Chapel Street Jazz Band, singer-songwriter Nicolette Lagace, and currently sings with the Capital Chamber Choir. He brings a strong background of administrative support with him. Alex is pleased to be serving our membership so be sure to pop in to say 'hello' or touch base by email. He's at AlexZ@artsnetottawa.ca (and yes, that means we now have two Alex's in the office!).
Accueil d'un nouveau membre de l'équipe
Nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer qu’Alex Zabloski s’est joint à notre équipe en tant qu’Assistant administratif! Alex est un artiste sonore, multi-instrumentiste et interprète théâtral. Nominé pour un Prix Rideau, il se spécialise en percussion vocale, percussion corporelle, pédale de Delay et musique d’objets trouvés. D’ailleurs, il a travaillé en tant que musicien, compositeur et concepteur sonore théâtrale avec le Ottawa Stilt Union et Filament Theatre, et ses compositions musicales originales ont été créées à Toronto (« Castle » pour hautbois solo, 2013) et à Ottawa (« Music for Flute, Oboe and Delay » , 2012). Comme musicien, il a joué avec le Chapel Street Jazz Band et avec l’auteure-compositrice-interprète Nicolette Lagace, et chante actuellement avec le Capital Chamber Choir. Fort de son expérience de soutien administratif, Alex est heureux de servir nos membres, alors n'hésitez pas à venir nous dire «bonjour» ou à contacter par courriel.
