- A mayoral proclamation recognizing 9/11 Day of Remembrance
- A mayoral proclamation recognizing September 17-23, 2019 as Constitution Week
- Council denied the formation of the Aspen Grove Reimbursement District
- Council approved the refinement plan for a tentative subdivision located in the 4100 to 4200 blocks of Pringle Road SE and the 4200 block of Battle Creek Road SE

Salem Splash Fountains are Closed for the 2019 Season
As of Friday, September 13, 2019, all park splash fountains will be closed for the season. These include Wes Bennett Park, Northgate Park, West Salem Park, Fairmount Park, River Road Park, Englewood Park, and Riverfront Park splash fountains.

Road Closures for Sunday, September 15, 2019 Rotary Multi-Sport Riverfest
Many road closures will be in effect on Sunday, September 15, between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to accommodate the 2019 Salem Rotary Multisport Riverfest.

We Need Your Help Selecting Play Equipment for Secor Park
Help us select play equipment for a new playground at Secor Park. A public open house is set for Thursday, September 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crossler Middle School. Come pick from several playground components and concepts. Children are welcome - bring the kids to help choose play equipment. Your feedback will be used to make a final selection.

The City intends to update the Salem Area Comprehensive Plan, which guides development in the Salem area, but FIRST, we need to know how you want our community to grow. Come to one of our workshops:
- Wednesday, October 16, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Pringle Hall, 606 Church St SE
- Thursday, October 17, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Crossler Middle School, 1155 Davis Rd S
- Friday, October 25 (in Spanish only): 6:00-8:00 p.m., Chemeketa Community College, Building 8, 4000 Lancaster Drive NE
