WaPac E-Quips

Establishing and Resourcing the Development of Healthy Churches
The Call Conference (Oct. 10-13 at NNU) exists to provide time, space and opportunity for students (junior and seniors) to explore their call into Christian ministry.  The conference is designed to help students explore what it means to be called into ministry, to introduce them to some of their peers who are feeling the same leading, and to meet and interact with people who have been in ministry for a while. Students will have the opportunity to further explore God's call on their life through worship, teaching, and conversation.  Participants are encouraged to bring a mentor from their local church.  Click here to get a glimpse of The Call through a video:  The Call Conference
Cost:  $120 (the first 20 people from WaPac that register get a $50 scholarship)

You are invited to come and connect with other students and be prepared to be sent out to work sites to meet community needs through service and bring the hope of Christ to those you encounter.
November 2, 2019 at Hillcrest Church in Vancouver from 9am - 5pm.  Cost is $20.
A MOVEMENT OF GOD THROUGH THE PEOPLE OF GOD.

Thank you for the leadership shown by NMI presidents to respond to those affected by natural disasters.  Regardless of the location, the response remains the same:  pray, give, go, share.  Your help is needed:
  • Pray.  Pray for wisdom, strength, and peace for those affected and those who are helping.
  • Donate Financial Resources.  Donations are needed.  Please give through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.
  • Donate Crisis Care Kits.  Crisis Care Kits are most effective when received on site within 24 hours of a disaster.  You can help to replenish the supply at the warehouses. For instructions and shipping addresses for CCKs, click here.
  • Keep Up to Date.  For up-to-date information on how you may help, visit www.nazarene.org/news or www.ncm.org.
Spending a few days together for a retreat in late October is life giving for our WaPac ministers and spouses.  It is a great time to step away from busy schedules to refresh spirits and develop lasting relationships.  We are so grateful to local churches that make this time of renewal possible for their pastors and staff.
Registration is $60/person.
Please register at Wapacnaz.org or by using the WaPac app.
Rooms at the Enzian Inn (800-223-8511) are on a first come/first served basis.

Twenty five years ago Pastor Aaron Knapp and the Liberty Bible Church planted a congregation in Long Beach.  Last week I had the opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this church on the peninsula. The core of the congregation is made up of senior adults, so you might think their new ministry focus would be on other seniors. Nope - they just bought adjacent property to build a youth center because safe and healthy places for youth is one of major problems in their community. One of the clear signs of a healthy church is an outward focus. As churches are getting back into full stride following the slower pace of summer, it is  encouraging to hear stories like this one of churches meeting needs and sharing the love of Jesus outside the walls of the sanctuary - selfless generosity - evidence of a healthy church.
