1. Updates

Early September

Hello urbanists! Autumn and the beginning of the academic year are just around the corner for some of us. As we get our sweaters out of the closet and our laptops and sketchbooks ready, our Newsletter returns to its weekly rhythm.

A number of great submissions for August's Monthly Focus section have led us to extend the subject of Urban Waste Management onto this month. Check out this week's articles and stay tuned for the next ones coming up.
  • The (un)sanitary urban issue in Delhi, from Mahak Agrawal
  • Oxford Urbanists' new tag #Glocal Ambassadors - the changemakers promoting sustainable development through local action. Read our intro to the topic and let us know if you have in mind an initiative we should publish!
We also have an opening for a new Partnerships Development Officer and two openings for South Asia Associates. Join us!
We have an exciting event happening in London today
  • "In Conversation with UN-Habitat": Ms. Maimunah Mohd Sharif
    • Held by UCL Climate Action Society, this event provides an opportunity for students, professors and practitioners interested in UN-Habitat's work to hear from its Executive Director on their stance on climate action and their worldwide partnerships with youth
    • The event's programme includes a lecture by Ms Maimunah Mohd Sharif, followed by an exclusive Q&A session.
    • Also, stay tuned for Oxford Urbanists' upcoming article on our one-to-one interview with Ms Sharif.

As always, please do send in your pictures and work -  we'd love to feature them in our newsletter. Head over to Facebook, Twitter, and our website pages for more updates.
