The 3rd Annual Trail Walk is this Sunday!
Date: Sunday, September 15
Time: 10 am - 2 pm
Location: Quincy & Lafayette
RSVP NOW

Due to the presence of the petting zoo, horses and raptors, this is a dog-free event.

Bring your whole family and get outside at our 3rd Annual Family Trail Walk, exploring our open spaces and learning from local conservation organizations like these:

Colorado Master Gardner

The mission of the Colorado Master Gardener program is to enhance Coloradans’ quality of life by extending knowledge-based education to local communities, helping individuals make informed decisions about plants while protecting neighborhood environments. The Colorado Master Gardner volunteers from Arapahoe County will have a booth at the Trail Walk to talk about native bees and other pollinators!

Mountain Crust

Mountain Crust is a catering company based in Denver CO, that serves wood-fired pizza, beer on tap and much more out of an old restored truck. Ole Blue is a 1955 Ford F-600, we specialize in weddings and corporate events. We always have the music pumping and fire burning to get your party started!!

Local Beekeepers

Are you a hobbyist with little time for hobbies? Swing by the table run by Cherry Hills Village beekeeper Bill Lucas to learn about all things honey bees! Experience a (non-active) beehive and consider starting your own hive, too. In times when 48% of all beehives in the world are collapsing (dying), honey bees need all the support.
Registration is free and open to the public, but we always appreciate your support. Donate here today to help with future educational programming - just $10 goes a long way!

A big thank you to Paul and Katy Rady and these sponsors for supporting this year's Barn Party, Art Auction and Trail Walk!

Redevelopment of John Meade Park is Underway!

Cherry Hills Village recently received a $500,000 grant to redevelop John Meade Park.

Last month, the City of Cherry Hills Village received a $500,000 grant from Arapahoe County Open Lands to support plans to redevelop John Meade Park. The matching funds included a match of a $10,000 donation made to the project by the Cherry Hills Land Preserve.

Over the next year, the majority of the park will be closed for everyone's safety, but when the project is finished, the park will feature updated natural play features, fishing piers, a wetlands boardwalk, a shelter with restrooms and more! During renovations, the gravel parking lot and horse arena are still open, with access to the trail still open behind the arena.

To follow updates on the park's progress, follow the City of Cherry Hills Village's Facebook page!

Our Backyard and Beyond

What do you know about Colorado bees?
What's all the buzz about bees? Our open lands need bees and other pollinators to thrive - so, naturally, land conservation and talk about bees go hand-in-hand! And while threats to bees like pesticide over-use and hive collapse are well-known these days, the buzz focuses on a single species: honeybees. So how much do you actually know about our buzzing friends and how to support them?

Brush up on your native bee facts with this article from The Nature Conservancy to learn about the many species of bees, the threats they face and tips for supporting your native bees. If you find yourself with more questions, then swing by the Trail Walk this Sunday to chat with local beekeepers and volunteers from the Colorado Master Gardner program!
