Hello Parents
In this issue, we have details of our holiday programmes, Term 4 bookings and welcome new tutor Billy Lim to the team.
We are excited for all our students who are sitting their exams and assessments over the next couple of months. We will be on hand to help in any way we can to ensure these go well. Make sure you contact us if your child needs assistance to put study schedules in place. We can also assist with entrance exam practice for Year 7 and Year 9 and the transition to school for little learners.
Our Begin Bright School readiness sessions in Term 4 will help prepare 4 and 5 year olds who are due to start school in 2020.

Zest Tutors

Alex Elliot
Alex is currently away on sabbatical having recently completed a Master of Science in Theoretical Physics with First Class Honours. Congratulations Alex on your Masters we look forward to having you back tutoring at Zest. Alex is available for science and maths tutoring in our forthcoming October Holiday programme and Term 4.
Peter Holloway
Peter Holloway our extremely popular English Tutor is currently fully booked for the rest of the term. However, Peter will be available for a limited number of English sessions over the holidays. Contact us to book a session with Peter.
Peter was honoured as one of the great teachers of Auckland Grammar School at a school assembly last week, we are very fortunate to have him on the team at Zest. |

New Tutor - Billy Lim
Billy has recently graduated with First Class Honours in a BSc (Honours) in psychology at the University of Auckland, he has been offered a full scholarship to complete his PhD.
Previously, Billy has completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in biology and psychology at the University of Auckland.

October Holiday Programme and Term 4
Exam season is fast approaching and we are starting to get requests for bookings for Term 4 and our October holiday programme. Details for both of these are included below.

October Holiday Programme

Week 2: Monday 7th October to Friday 11th October

Term 4, 2019
Term 4 commences; Monday 14th October and ends Friday 13th December 2019. All sessions for Years 1 - 10 will roll over from Term 3 unless we hear otherwise from you.

Flexible Term 4 Bookings (Years 11 - 13)
For Years 11 - 13 we are pleased to advise you that we will be offering our flexible Term 4 booking. This will be on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. Please click here to access the form to book your Term 4 sessions (YEARS 11 - 13 ONLY).

Attendance
A friendly reminder to please provide us with as much notice as possible if your child is going to be late or unable to attend a session. We request at least 24 - 48 hours.
Firstly, the safety of your child is of utmost importance to us. Secondly, we often have student waiting lists for our classes. Lastly, we choose to pay our tutors out of respect for their attendance and preparation time (regardless of whether your child attends or not).
Please note that all session changes notified within 24 hours can be rescheduled for $25 (subject to availability). Make-up sessions must be used within the same term and the 7 day period of the missed session. Thank you for understanding!

Begin Bright school readiness programmes
|
|
Preparing your little learners for big school!
We have classes for children aged 3 - 5, taking them through literacy and numeracy, introducing them to a classroom-like setting and working on social and fine motor skills – all while having fun and building children’s confidence!
|
|
|
Begin Bright Holiday Intensive
During both weeks of the school holidays we will be running a Begin Bright Intensive. A great way of getting your littlies on track for starting school, the intensive programme will fast-track confidence in your 3-5 year old.
Monday 30th September - Thursday 3rd October
Monday 7th October - Thursday 10th October
12:30pm - 3pm
Cost: $375 for the four days.

CPL Trial
Thank you to the students and families who have participated in this programme. Initial indications show that this has had a positive impact for our students.
We are proud to be associated with CPL and look forward to the official launch of this programme and being able to offer it to all our senior students.

New Debit and Credit Service
Thank you for your patience as we have transitioned our debit and credit card service from Ezidebit to Windcave, which will streamline our debit and credit payments.
|
|
Brain Food
We encourage our students to bring brain food if they need a snack when they come to Zest. It helps us and you get the most out of lessons, keeping us focused and learning.
At Zest, we love brain food. From fruit and veges to popcorn and sandwiches, brain food is the best kind of food for learning. The fruit and vegetable shop next door or the supermarket across the road are great places to get healthy snacks.

Prompt Drop-Offs and Pick-Ups
We appreciate your patience with parking, whilst the upper car park across the road is closed. As our sessions are reaching capacity we have limited waiting space. Some students recently have been arriving up to an hour before their session start time and waiting to be collected for up to 30 minutes following the end of the session. This causes congestion in the entrance and stairwell and is becoming a safety hazard. Dropping off/picking up 5 minutes prior/post session would be greatly appreciated.
