Mixed Media Fun. Along with standard demonstrated watercolor techniques, we will be exploring the use of a variety of mixed media such as instant coffee (shown below on bagel), dissolving dried pigments, watercolor crayons, salt, stencils, gouache, gold gesso (above on calla lily painting), collage, drywall tape, cherry jello (yes) and much more.
Mixed media can be a marvelous tool in painting beautiful paintings and in fixing our less than best paintings...and it's fun to do.
We will have the fun of experimenting with all the mixed media before selecting several to incorporate into 2-3 small paintings. Demonstrations, lecture and individual and group critique included. Mixed media materials supplied.

1. The above top painting of calla lilies utilized watercolor, gold gesso and spray bottle squirted color over tape pieces and paper clips.
2. Left Painting of Sicily utlilized tinted and splattered tissue paper collaged on watercolor paper with pen and additional watercolor.
3. Right Painting utilized watercolor and collaged sheet music and gouache.
