Team Night - September 10th 5:00-7:30

Next Tuesday, September 10th is our Back to School Team Night.  This is an opportunity for all families to meet all the teachers of their students.  Each grade-level team will have a large group presentation and then provide the opportunity for students to show families their daily class schedule and ask specific questions of teachers.  During the large group session, teachers will discuss team expectations, go over the teacher course outlines and introduce the team’s music, PE allied and support teachers.

Teams 1 and 2 will begin at 5:00pm

Teams 3 and 4 will begin at 5:45pm

Teams 5 and 6 will begin at 6:30pm

Because the 8th grade teams start at 6:30, we encourage families to attend starting at 6:00pm.

All families that attended last year found the information very beneficial.  

As an added incentive, any student that attends with their family and introduces their guests to all their teachers,  can enter to win a South T-shirt.

Orange & Black Assembly

We will have our first school assembly. The Orange & Black Assembly will take place Thursday, Sept 12th.  The assembly will focus on building our South Tiger Community through school spirit, fun, getting to know our staff and students. Go Tigers!

6th Grade Lunches

The seating arrangement we have been using for 6th grade in the lunchroom this past week allows us to have some clear order and direction as we get new students to South accustomed to the lunch process.  

We have been reviewing  lunchroom procedures as a whole group during our 1-hour morning advisory this week.  All 6th graders reviewed the processes that are expected to ensure that all students get to enjoy lunch in an environment that is conducive for everyone. 

Our plan is to get through the rest of the coming week, and then begin the opportunity for students in the 6th grade lunch to have more freedom with where they are sitting and who they are sitting with.
