Maplewood Neighborhood Assoc Special Board Meeting

**Committee action:
Equity and Inclusion – vote to elect Jill Gaddis as committee chair (in time for her to attend the 9/23 SWNI Equity & Inclusion meeting)
**Grant proposal:
Discussion and vote to support Maplewood Elementary School’s desire for a public art display on the school by sponsoring a grant and, if awarded, presenting the funds to MES for the art project.
We are considering a proposal to apply for a Regional Arts and Culture Council grant to paint a mural on the Maplewood Elementary School south and west side, facing 52nd Avenue. The project would be in partnership with the Maplewood School PTA. The deadline to apply for the Inquiry grant (to be considered for the full grant) is Wednesday, October 9, 2019. This is after our next MWNA meeting but does not provide enough time for a vote, writing of the grant proposal if the Board agrees, and for review and acceptance of the proposal by the Board, thus the need for this emergency meeting. The grant award we are seeking is for $7,000. The project manager would be Jackie Haddon from Maplewood Elementary School.
