Here we are, already in September and, with school starting last week for most of our children, we are all slowly adjusting back into our usual routine. I hope all of you have enjoyed summer and, if you have, like myself on a few occasions, fallen out of your fitness and/ or healthy eating routine, now is the time to get back straight into it.
If you are feeling overwhelmed when thinking about taking control of your weight and your health - instead of focusing solely on the outcome you desire and immediately focusing on just some goals, what I find works for me is focusing on a long term vision. Asking myself a question: if I continue with current unhealthy habits - what will my health and shape look like in a few years time. Sometimes life takes over and we lose sight of a bigger picture for ourselves, health included amongst other areas of life. So, as often as possible we need to remind ourselves why we are doing what we are doing. Most times, it is an internal transformation that needs to take place first before we get into action.
I sometimes allow my future healthy self to talk to me and remind me that exercising and eating right is a prerequisite to living a good and purpose filled life and that it effects other areas of life. If I do not feel well physically, it is hard to feel well mentally and it will show in other areas of life too. Everything connects to our health in the end and I am worth a good, vibrant, energy filled life.
