New Experience Trails boost local tourism
A new tourism project has developed three specially designed experience trails to encourage more visitors to stay overnight in our region, to boost the local economy. The Regional Strategic Alliance (RSA) – a collaboration between Blue Mountains, Penrith and Hawkesbury councils – has developed three experience trails based on extensive research of visitor patterns and preferences. Each trail incorporates a three-day, two-night itinerary and is available in an attractive, easy-to-follow printed or electronic document featuring maps, distances, approximate drive times, travel tips, daily itineraries, suggested stops for food and views, and other highlights. Download the Flavour Trail, Nature Trail and Adventure Trail.

More than 60 people attended the annual Stronger Families Alliance stakeholder workshop recently. This Alliance is a network of government, non-profit and voluntary organisations working together to promote resilience and wellbeing for children and young people living in the Blue Mountains. The SFA focuses on:
  • Children starting school ready to learn
  • Parents being confident and engaged in their child’s development
  • Emotionally resilient young people, and
  • Building a child and youth friendly city.

Council is proud to have been one of its backbone agencies since 2006, and we continue to facilitate and resource its valuable work.
