WHO Forum on alcohol, drugs and addictive behaviors
 
Geneva, 28-29 June. - The 2nd WHO Forum on alcohol, drugs and addictive behaviors (FADAB) was attended by 175 participants from the Member States, academia and civil society from all over the world. The primary goal of the forum was to enhance public health actions in the areas of alcohol, drugs and addictive behaviors by strengthening partnerships and collaboration among public health-oriented organizations, networks and institutions in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for 2030.

PAHO/WHO – Launching of online course to address alcohol use in pregnancy
 
Washington, D.C., June 17. - “Alcohols use, women’s health and pregnancy: comprehensive approaches to preventing problems associated with prenatal exposure to alcohol” is a virtual course launched by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), which is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The purpose of this self-learning course is to provide health workers and health care providers with the latest, evidence-based information on health promotion strategies for pregnancy; the early detection of alcohol use in pregnancy; and how to support women to reduce alcohol use.

Argentina - International postgraduate course in mental health, legislation and human rights

The International Postgraduate Course in Mental Health, Legislation and Human Rights offered by the National University of Entre Ríos is the result of a collaboration with the Indian Law Society (ILS), Pune, India, and has the technical support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO).
 
The course responds to the need for training and education in the knowledge and application of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and other key international human rights instruments.
 
It is a one year virtual course that includes two residential sessions. Pre-applications are currently being accepted. The course will commence in October 2019.
