Lots of opportunities coming up for you to help shape the future of our community (more details for each in the graphics below):

STORM RISK & COASTAL RESILIENCY, SEP 9:  Tomorrow (or tonight, depending on when you read this!) the US Army Corps of Engineers will give a presentation on the alternatives they are considering to reduce coastal storm damages and improve human safety and coastal resiliency in Collier County.  There are many options under consideration, some of which have never been used before in our community -- storm gates, buyouts, breakwaters, elevating structures, etc. If you have an interest in our coast, this is an important opportunity to weigh in on the study.

ARTS & CULTURE COMMUNITY FORUM, SEP 17:  The County is working on a Strategic Plan for this important segment of our economy.  What does 'arts & culture' mean to you?  Does it include sculpture and stand-up, literature and cuisine, opera and rap?  We'd love to hear from you on what you enjoy now in Naples, and what you think is missing.  The meeting on the 17th is in the District at the Orange Blossom library, but there are also 2 forums on the 18th available if that date or location doesn't work for you.  And if you can't make any of the meetings but have thoughts to share, just reply to this email and we'll collect and include them.

COFFEE WITH THE COMMISSIONER, OCT 10:  Save the date!  I'll send out the official invite later this month, but I know calendars start to get busy about now.  I always look forward to this opportunity to hear from you and share about District 2 news - hope to see you there!

MENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTION WORKSHOP, OCT 29:  You hear me talk about this all the time, and so know of my deep commitment on this topic; it was one of the reasons I ran for the Commission.  This will be the 3rd workshop on this important issue.  I called for the first in 2017 to assess the County's existing circumstances and resources. In 2018, we determined the need to set up a broad-based ad hoc advisory committee to help the Commission create a Strategic Plan to make better use of the funds we are already expending in this area.  And now that committee will present the draft plan to the Commission and the community.  I will remind you again next month, but I hope you will plan now to attend or watch, live or on demand later.

Details for all are below -- let me know if you have any questions, and I'll hope to see you there!
