Celebrating our carers

During the week of 13-19 October, we celebrate National Carers Week. This is an opportunity to raise awareness of, and show appreciation for, those in caring roles. The value the community gets from the love and endless work provided by countless carers is like pure gold dust. However, the unique individual experience of carers is often a different story.

There is good evidence that carers often get forgotten, and we know that caring is a health hazard. However, it is also true that there are major health benefits for everyone if the carer is doing well. Muddy Puddles runs a free Caring for Carers group on the fourth Tuesday of each month, open to all parents and carers. There are no forms to fill in, no booking, no assessments, just turn up. Free childcare can be provided for parents and carers attending the group.

Each month there will be a free creative activity on offer for the group. You can choose to join in the activity, or just relax and enjoy the morning tea and company with people who "get it, really get it".

Caring is a health hazard, so come and enjoy some time for just you.

Monster Garage Sale

Come along to the Muddy Puddles Monster Garage Sale on Saturday 28 September, kicking off at 8am. Browse the treasures and bargains while you enjoy a treat and a cuppa. Stalls include bric-a-brac, garden tools, kitchen goods, clothing, books, toys and SAUSAGE SIZZLE.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Thank you Bunnings!

Muddy Puddles Therapy Centre recently accepted a donation of a Six Burner Hotplate BBQ from Bunnings Batemans Bay.

Bunnings’ ongoing generosity is highly valued by Muddy Puddles and enables the continuation of support programs for children with disabilities and their families in the Eurobodalla.

The BBQ will be utilised by children participating in Muddy Puddles Cooking Club and at functions involving families and staff. The Donation is very timely. The BBQ will be put to good use at Muddy Puddles Garage Sale to be held at the centre in Melaleuca Crescent on Saturday 28 September.

Bodalla Bakery

Muddy Puddles continues to receive support from businesses across the Eurobodalla shire. Recently the donation boxes have been emptied and it is surprising how small change can add up to big dollars. The funds raised go towards providing services to children with disabilities who do not currently receive or are awaiting funding.
