Dear All

This week we will be joined at both our services by Youth For Christ, who will be sharing information about their Mexico trip.  At our 4.30pm service Enya Maylor will be leading a small worship band - do come and join us!  If you are able to Welcome at the 4.30pm, please do let me know as currently this role is empty. 
 
I've also heard on the grapevine that the shop has sold out of Harvest Supper tickets but we have a few still left in the office, so please buy some soon for you and your friends on Sunday.  Tickets not sold on Sunday will be given to the shop to sell.

Notices to bring to your attention
  1. Ladies Friendship Group:   Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 17th September at 2 p.m. in Church. "A GOOD READ".  Come along and recommend a book to the group and bring a book (paperback) to exchange. Any books remaining at the end of the afternoon may be donated to Keith Masdin for Hope and Homes for Children. Transport can be arranged. Phone Mary Cowood on 859470.
  2. University of Bath Chaplaincy have put a request out for cake!   They would love donations of cake from individuals of churches at this important time of year to welcome Freshers.   Please contact Karen at kt603@bath.ac.uk or 07432 562323 if you are able to help.
  3. Bath Foodbank: Please read the message below from Bath Foodbank who have provided a list of current urgent food supplies required.  These foods can also be donated at our Harvest Festival on Sunday 29th September
  4. Rota: the rota (linked below) has been updated and populated until the beginning of December 2019.   Some information still needs to be added 'Service Leaders and Preachers' and those able to assist at BCP Evening Prayer (29/09)  / United Services (27/10) / Service for Loved Ones (01/11).  If you would like to volunteer for these services please do let Noreen know.

With the Harvest Festival season fast approaching we would be most grateful of the following foods in particular:

Fruit Juice (Longlife, UHT)
Bars of Chocolate
Custard (Tinned)
Sponge Puddings

and/or left over foreign currency coins (& notes?) which we can then exchange and give to charity.

External Events 2019
Sunday 15 September:  'A Harvest Hope for God's Work'.   Time to thank and a time to think.  A Rocha is a Christian environmental group founded 30 years ago and Rev. Peter Harris (founder member) and  Rev. Dr. Dave Bookless (Director of Theology A Rocha Int.) will help us as we thank God and think about our responsibilities.  The plans for the day include:
10:30 am - Morning Service 
12:30 pm - Lunch Together (“Culinary riches - enjoy seasonal and vegetarian”)
3:00 pm - Afternoon Family Activity – “Wild Widcombe”
4:30 pm – Workshop - “God’s word in God’s world ... the scope of the gospel” 
6:30 pm - Informal Evening Service to learn, think and pray

 Sunday 15 September: 'Taize' A reflective and contemplative service of singing, readings and silence.   Music from the Taizé community.   St Mary’s Church, Charlcombe Lane, BA1 8DR at 6.30pm.   (Park in Charlcombe Lane and walk up the track to the church.People may be dropped off at the door if needed.)
Saturday 28 September . St. Luke’s Church, Bath is hosting a “Walk through the Bible- New Testament” day.  Prompt 10am start.  This is an open event and everyone is most welcome. Cost £14. Email admin@stlukesbath.com  to sign up or for more details.
