6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Deep inside of all of us as followers of Christ is a gift ... a supernatural ability and inclination from God Himself designed to equip and empower us for the ministry and mission He has created us for. These gifts represent a spark, an ember inside of our spirits with the potential to become a roaring fire of life-changing service to those around us.
So what's your gift(s)? What has God created you to do in His Kingdom and how has He equipped you for that through the spiritual gift He's put in you? Are you using that gift? Are you growing in your understanding of and your ability to employ it?
It's really a question of stewardship. God has made this deposit in us. Now, He has challenged us to not let it lie dormant, but to understand it, to develop it, and to use for the good of the entire Body of Christ. In essence, He has invited us to become His partners in the work of redemption and mission through these gifts.
