AUGUST 2019 HOME FAIR RECAP
On Saturday, August 24 Take Root Milwaukee hosted our second citywide homeownership fair of 2019. Nearly 50 people joined us to connect with the home-buying services provided by members. Our credit-ready workshop hosted about 25 people and the neighborhood homes tour shuttle was full, taking 30 individuals through three homes up for sale in Milwaukee's Clarke Square and Muskego Way neighborhoods. Of the satisfactions surveys received at the event, 100% expressed that they would recommend the event to someone else and that they found the information they received very helpful. Thank you to Johnson Bank for sponsoring the bus tour, the Milwaukee Christian Center for partnering on planning and logistics, and to all of our presenters!

The City of Milwaukee, City of Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, City of West Allis, and Waukesha County have hired Applied Real Estate Analysis (AREA), Inc. to conduct a housing study for communities in the Southeast Wisconsin region. As part of the study, the county would like to have a stronger understanding of any potential challenges faced by residents (or potential residents) in finding housing. Citizen feedback is essential to fully understand fair housing access and housing issues. In particular, AREA wants to learn about challenges faced by residents because of perceived discrimination based on a person’s race, color, sex, age, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, military discharge status, source of income, gender identity, or housing status. Please take a moment to complete one of the survey's below and share with your networks and the residents you serve.
