Workshop: Winning In 2020
The Big Picture
October 12, 2-4 PM

We all know what's at stake!  Learn how to maximize your impact and help ensure success in 2020.

Please join us for this workshop by Indivisible Auburn, in partnership with Swing Left.  Swing Left is a national organization dedicated to focusing resources on key “swing” states and districts.  This is where your efforts have the potential to make the greatest impact on fighting the Trump agenda

Our presenter is Colleen McCarthy, California Field Director for Swing Left.  Colleen has a long history of leadership in nonprofits that focus on engaging volunteers in activism.

Colleen will discuss Swing Left's approach to electoral politics and activating volunteers, the work they did in 2018, and their strategy to take back our government in 2020. She will also introduce their scientifically-tested voter outreach letter-writing program and give volunteers the opportunity to try it out themselves.

At the Auburn Library Beecher Room, 350 Nevada Street.

Religious Freedom ≠ Discrimination

From the ACLU:

The Department of Labor is proposing a new rule allowing employers with federal contracts to discriminate against employees based on religious beliefs. Before the rule goes into effect, the government is accepting public comments – and will be forced to read and consider every single one.

Let's raise our voices before the September 16 deadline: The Department of Labor must reject the new rule. Religion is not a license to discriminate.

National Actions This Week

➜ Kick off the #DefundHate Week of Action with the National Call-In Day. Call 1-844-909-0232 and tell your representative to cut funding for ICE and CBP and end ICE’s ability to steal money from other agencies now. Visit the Defund Hate campaign site for more info about what to expect this week.

Opt-in to the exclusive National Indivisible Focus Group by texting DEBATES to 977-79. Indivisible National wants to capture the Indivisible movement’s take on the debates as soon as they’re over -- which means they'll need an exclusive focus group that they'll text after the debate ends (11pm ET / 8pm PT) and ask you how you feel.

Join Indivisible National tomorrow 8pm EST / 5pm PST for a special Facebook Live featuring Indivisible cofounders Leah and Ezra for a look inside the Defund Hate Week of Action and what they're looking for in the upcoming debates. They’ll be talking about results from the call-in day, what they're expecting from the rest of the week, and exactly what they hope to hear from the presidential candidates on the issues.

Click here for the full Indivisible National message.
