September Technical Presentation: Teams

Very likely, you have been part of one or more teams. Maybe a softball team, a debate team, or a yearbook staff?
Very likely, you have been part of one or more teams: maybe a softball team, a debate team, or a yearbook staff? At the September 17th meeting, we are going to concentrate on business teams, such as a project-, improvement-, audit, or investigation- team. Teams are an investment: they take time and resources; some teams are very successful, others not so much.
We’ll look at when it makes sense to form a team, what should be considered to maximize chances for success, and what to avoid, including team-size, team-development, team-composition, support, charters, time lines, responsibilities, rules-of-the-road, ad-hoc vs. standing teams, etc. Hopefully this will be an interactive session, and as such, you may want to, before our meeting, reflect on a very successful team and/or a not-so-successful team you were on, and what you believe made them so.
