LaGrange College to Host National Clean Energy Week Panel on October 3, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Atlanta, Georgia, September 11, 2019 – Conservatives for Clean Energy Georgia (CCEGA), The Ray and LaGrange College will host a clean energy panel in celebration of National Clean Energy Week. It will take place at the Dickson Assembly Room on the LaGrange College campus from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Panelists include former 3rd District Congressman & CCE GA Advisory Board Chairman Lynn Westmoreland, Georgia Public Service Commissioner Jason Shaw, State Senator Randy Robertson, and The Ray Executive Director Allie Kelly.

“We are thrilled to discuss clean energy in West Georgia, home to the Chattahoochee River, West Point Lake, the Ray Highway, and LaGrange College” said Executive Director Theresa Garcia Robertson. “We have key stakeholders for energy policy in Georgia to give us insight to where we are, and where we are going with clean energy in Georgia. The panel will give updates for state, local, and federal policies, as well as, an update on Phase Two of The Ray’s clean energy highway in West Point, Georgia. Clean energy has become a huge issue for voters in Georgia and we want to facilitate a productive conversation.”

Earlier this year, Conservatives for Clean Energy Georgia launched their organization and released a poll that found that there is almost unanimous support that the renewable energy industry is important to Georgia with nearly two-thirds saying it is very important. Nearly 75% of Georgians say they are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports acting to increase the development and use of clean energy. Pollster Glen Bolger states, “The poll results are very clear, both rural and suburban voters support renewable energy, and would like to see it continue to grow here in Georgia.”
