On this past Sunday night at 10:45 pm, driving down the highway on my way to a visit a family where death had come, God spoke these words very clearly to my heart:
"Expect the Unexpected"
I plead with you to not only pray for me but to also pray with me that God might do the unexpected in our midst.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
"My faith has found a rest place" and it is in the Lord Jesus Christ. Be here tonight at 7 for Refresh and then on Sunday at 10 as we Expect the Unexpected.

Connect Board
This Sunday is the first ever launching of the His Vineyard Connect Board.
One side of the board will be pictures from the past 14 years. On the other side will be blank index cards that you can write on to simply express what His Vineyard has meant to you. It is my hope that this will allow you to connect with what God has done here, what He’s doing, and what He will do in the life of our Church.

In Sympathy
We extend our deepest sympathies to Benji Pruitt in the passing of his stepfather, Marvin McAbee. Memorial services will be held at His Vineyard on Thursday, September 12th at 2:00 pm, with visitation following the memorial service.
Christmas Musical Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be on the first and third Sunday of each month at 5:00 pm, beginning on September 15th.

Great Commission Update: Sept 9
This week, I want to bring two important things to your attention. Each one is a way that you can serve the Lord in the church and make a greater impact with your life.
MISSION PLEDGE FUNDS
Sunday, 13 October, is our Mission Emphasis Sunday. We will see and hear from our own missionaries whose trips you helped to support this year. We will also have an opportunity to pledge a mission offering for the coming year. You may choose any amount you would like to give each week for the year ahead from $1, $5, $10, $15, or $20. These funds will help our own people to participate in mission trips around the world. Pledge cards are available on the Welcome Center. We will turn them in together on 13 October.
NURSERY WORKERS
We are in need of some volunteers to help us in the nursery one Sunday evening per month during our LIFE Cell meetings. If you can give about an hour and a half of your time one Sunday evening per month to be with the children whose parents are in Bible Study you sure could help us meet a great need that we have. Lacy Cooper will provide you with everything you will need for the children, and you will have a partner in there with you. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact Pastor Allen or Lacy Cooper. Thank you so much.
